Product Overview

  •  Engineered for high-speed circular knitting, our precision-crafted needles deliver superior performance across single-knit, double-knit, and ribbed fabric production. Manufactured from high-grade alloy steel with advanced heat treatment, they offer exceptional wear resistance, durability, and dimensional stability under continuous operation.
  • Available in a wide gauge range from 8G to 40G, our needles accommodate various yarn types—from coarse to ultra-fine counts—ensuring consistent stitch formation and minimal yarn breakage. Precision-ground latch, butt, and hook geometries guarantee smooth cam interaction and reduced machine vibration, extending both needle and sinker life.
  • Ideal for applications including apparel, sportswear, lingerie, and technical textiles. Customized specifications and surface coatings (e.g., chrome or nitride) are available upon request to optimize performance for specific yarns or fabric structures. Backed by rigorous quality control and reliable supply, our needles ensure productivity and cost-efficiency for modern knitting mills.

Technical Highlights

  • Energy-Efficient Needle Design – Optimized butt geometry and locally reduced needle shank thickness minimize friction between the needle and the needle slot, reducing energy consumption, lowering operating temperatures, improving lubrication performance, and significantly extending needle service life.
  • Advanced Surface Coating – Our advanced polishing system delivers a mirror-like finish on the needle shank, while ensuring that the latch remains completely undamaged throughout the process  and also available with chrome plating or nitriding treatment for some needles and knitting knife for enhanced wear resistance and corrosion protection.
  • High-Speed Compatibility – Engineered to maintain stability and stitch quality at machine speeds up to the manufacturer's rated maximum

    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at longtex@qq.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A: The gauge indicates the number of needles per inch (25.4mm) on the cylinder. To determine the correct gauge:

    • Check your machine's original specifications or nameplate.
    • Count the number of needle slots over a 1-inch (or 2-inch) segment on the cylinder.
    • Consider your fabric weight requirement: lower gauge (8G–14G) for heavy, coarse fabrics; higher gauge (20G–40G) for light, fine fabrics.
    • When in doubt, consult your machine manual or contact us with your machine brand and model for precise matching.

A: Not always. While a needle may physically accommodate multiple yarn types, optimal performance requires matching the needle geometry to the yarn characteristics:

    • Coarse yarns → require larger hook openings and thicker needle shanks.
    • Fine yarns → require smaller, more precise hooks to prevent dropped stitches.
    • Elastic yarns (spandex/lycra) → may require special latch designs to reduce yarn stress.
    • Textured or spun yarns → may benefit from polished surfaces to minimize friction and abrasion.

Always consult us with your specific yarn specification for best results.

A: Needle selection is not one-size-fits-all. Key matching parameters include:

    • Needle total length – varies by cylinder diameter and cam design.
    • Butt height and angle – determines cam interaction and timing.
    • Hook shape and latch position – affects loop formation and transfer.
    • Shank thickness – must fit precisely into the needle slot for stability.
    • Always provide: machine brand, model, cylinder diameter, gauge, and a sample needle (if available). We maintain a comprehensive cross-reference database for most major brands including all Chinese machine, and some Mayer & Cie., Terrot, Pailung, Fukuhara, Orizio, Santoni, and more.

A: Surface finish is critical for:

    • Reducing friction – Mirror-polished shanks glide smoothly through needle slots, minimizing wear on both needles and cylinders.
    • Preventing yarn damage – Smooth hook surfaces reduce yarn breakage and fuzz generation.
    • Extending service life – Polished surfaces resist corrosion and abrasive wear.
    • Latch mobility – A clean, polished latch pivot ensures consistent opening/closing action.

Our advanced polishing system delivers a mirror-like finish while preserving latch integrity—ensuring both performance and durability.

A: Our needles are manufactured from high-grade  steel with a precisely controlled microstructure. This material offers:

    • High hardness (≥ 60 HRC) for wear resistance.
    • Sufficient toughness to withstand repeated impact loading.
    • Excellent fatigue resistance for extended service life.
    • Dimensional stability under thermal and mechanical stress.

We use vacuum hardening and tempering processes to achieve optimal material properties without brittleness.

    A: Watch for these indicators:

    • Fabric defects – increased miss-stitches, holes, or uneven loops.
    • Needle breakage – sudden increase in needle breakage frequency.
    • Surface wear – visible scoring, scratches, or corrosion on needle shanks or hooks.
    • Latch stiffness – latches that fail to open/close freely.
    • Reduced productivity – increased machine stoppages or lowered running speeds.

A typical preventative replacement schedule is every 6–12 months depending on machine speed, yarn type, and production volume.

A: Strongly discouraged. Even with the same nominal gauge, needles from different manufacturers may have subtle variations in:

    • Overall length.
    • Butt angle and height.
    • Hook curvature and dimensions.
    • Material and heat treatment consistency.

Mixing brands can lead to uneven fabric quality, accelerated wear, and unpredictable machine performance. Always use a consistent, matched set from a single reliable supplier.

A: We offer flexible packing options to suit different production scales:

    • Standard packing – 100 needles per plastic or paper bag, securely cushioned to prevent impact damage.
    • Bulk packing – For large-volume orders, in boxes of 500–1,000 needles.
    • Labeling – Each package is clearly labeled with code No, quantity,  for inventory management.
    • Custom packaging – Available upon request for OEM branding or specific storage requirements.

A: Yes. We provide OEM and custom design services for:

    • Non-standard gauges beyond our standard range.
    • Special butt angles or heights for custom cam systems.
    • Modified hook shapes for unique fabric structures.
    • The minimum order is 50000pcs for each type.

Please submit your specifications or provide at least 3-5 pieces sample needle for evaluation.

A: Proper storage extends needle life before installation:

    • Store in a dry, clean environment with temperature 15–25°C.
    • Keep away from moisture, dust, and corrosive gases.
    • Use original packaging – do not open bulk packs until ready for use.
    • Avoid magnetic fields that may magnetize needles and attract metal particles.
    • Apply anti-rust oil for long-term storage (we provide this with our packaging).

    A: Common causes and solutions:

    Incorrect needle gauge:

Verify gauge matching with machine cylinder

Worn cam tracks or needle slots:

Inspect and replace worn machine parts

    Improper yarn tension:

Adjust tension according to yarn specifications

    Insufficient/incorrect lubrication:

Use recommended oil type and frequency

    Foreign objects (dust, metal debris):

    Maintain clean working environment

    Needle fatigue (beyond service life):

    Implement a preventative replacement schedule

    Installation error:

Ensure proper needle insertion and orientation

If breakage persists, contact our technical support team with samples and production data for analysis.

A: Yes. Our needles are designed with optimized geometry and precise tolerances to maintain stability at machine speeds up to the manufacturer's rated maximum. Features supporting high-speed operation include:

    • Precision-ground butts for smooth cam transitions.
    • Low-friction surface finishes.
    • Dynamic balance to minimize vibration.
    • Heat-resistant material to withstand thermal buildup.

We can recommend specific product series optimized for your machine's top RPM.

    A: Follow these best practices:

    1. Clean the needle cylinder thoroughly before installation.
    2. Inspect each needle for visible damage before insertion.
    3. Orient all needles with latch facing the correct direction (refer to machine manual).
    4. Insert needles gently—do not force them; check for smooth sliding.
    5. Install all needles of the same batch to maintain uniform performance.
    6. Run the machine at low speed initially for the first 30–60 minutes of operation to settle the needles.
    7. Verify fabric quality and needle movement before resuming full-speed production.

A: To request a quotation or sample:

    1. Provide your machine brand, model, and gauge (or send a sample needle).
    2. Specify your target fabric type and yarn specifications.
    3. Indicate the quantity required and preferred packing.
    4. Contact our sales team via the inquiry form, email, or phone. We will respond within 24 hours with a detailed quotation and technical recommendation.
