Transfer needles operate on a simple yet precise mechanical principle:

• Loop Securing – The transfer spring closes, locking the loop securely onto the hook.
• Lateral Movement – The needle bed racks or the carriage moves to align the transfer needle with the receiving needle on the opposite bed.
• Loop Handover – The receiving needle extends, catches the loop from the transfer needle's hook, and the transfer spring opens to release the loop.
